"Especially during the winter months, people are not going to be able to walk too far without coming across hot, roasted chestnuts for sale.

This is a typical characteristic of Istanbul and each seller dispose the chestnuts in a different way. Often making geometrical or symmetrical patterns they try to appeal the customers not only with aromas but also  tempting them with the sight.

Sometimes sellers confuse themselves with the crowd interacting with them by stopping potential buyers or screaming the price out loud. But it is when the sun sets and sellers are isolated that they give the most beautiful sensation for the eye. They are alone in the dark, only illuminated by tiny lights which reflect onto the water or the ground.

This is just one of the interesting sides of Istanbul, a multicolour and always busy city."
